Hero Cards

The mission of the Hero Cards Project is to honor the sacrifices made by every member of the U.S. military, from the Revolutionary War to present day, who lost their life while serving our country.  A Hero Card is being created for every fallen service member, and a permanent online archive to preserve each of the stories for future generations.

For more information or show support of this Project or to submit a Hero visit their site at www.herocards.us.

The Grateful Nation Project

The Grateful Nation Project delivers a Hero Card and online story for a student to discover so they put a face, name, and story to those that gave "the last full measure of devotion" for the freedoms we enjoy.

One example  of a Jefferson County Hero is Jefferson City’s PFC John Watkins that gave “the last full measure of devotion” in the Vietnam War. See his full story: www.herocards.us/hero205.

A local movement has been started in coordination with area ROTC and JROTC programs to identify Jefferson County's heroes and having Cards creating for them with the goal of have card decks of Jefferson County Heroes that can be given to local schools and organizations.  The cost of the cards are $1 per card with the hope of having a deck of 100 cards ($100).  If you would like to help support or sponsor the creation of these decks please contact
